Begin a walking tour of the Old Town, with buildings dating from the 13th century. Visit Riga Castle, Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church and the Swedish Gate. View the “Three Brothers,” a quaint row of houses including Latvia’s oldest, dating from the 15th century. Visit the Freedom Monument, erected in 1935 as a symbol of independence and left untouched by the invading Soviets. You will also view many of Riga’s well-preserved Art Nouveau buildings.
